Dahlia coccinea “Gardenetta Velvet Crush” is a remarkable new introduction with striking colour intensity and decorative dark foliage. This cultivar, bred by PanAmerican Seed in Enkhuizen, stands out with large flowers measuring 8 to 10 cm in diameter that display a beautiful colour gradient: from a soft, light shade to a deep velvet purple.
The combination of the deep dark foliage and the intensely coloured double flowers creates a luxurious and powerful contrast that catches the eye throughout the summer. This Dahlia is not only an eye-catcher in the border, but also suitable for pots and patio planting.
The introduction of Dahlia “Gardenetta Velvet Crush” is planned for summer 2026. The plant is not protected by plant breeders’ rights. Florensis has submitted this promising cultivar for testing.
