Picea glauca ‘Kolschomachris’ (MAGICAL CHRISTMAS)

Picea glauca “Kolschomachris” (MAGICAL CHRISTMAS) is a fast-growing mini Christmas tree that is both functional and strikingly decorative. The needles twist gracefully around the branches, giving the tree a playful and festive look – ideal for use during the festive season.
Thanks to its sturdy branches, MAGICAL CHRISTMAS is easy to decorate with little risk of breakage. Its rapid growth also significantly reduces the cultivation time, making this spruce interesting for growers and therefore also for retailers. After the festive season, the tree does not need to be thrown away: it can simply be planted in the garden, where it will continue to grow into a compact and shapely tree of up to 150 cm in height.
This compact spruce originated from a mutant and was selected by D. Scholten in Boskoop. Since 2023, it has been marketed by Kolster BV in collaboration with P.C.J. Stolt & Zonen and Vromans Kwekerijen. Plant breeders’ rights are pending.
