Koeienurine – het vloeibare goud!

Urinebank.nl is een plek waar vraag en aanbod van koeienurine samenkomt. Koeienurine is rijk aan stikstof en kali en daardoor een uitstekende kunstmestvervanger voor planten.
De koeienurine wordt door het innovatieve CowToilet (van Hanskamp) direct onder de staart van de koe opgevangen. Doordat de urine niet in aanraking komt met de mest op de vloer van de stal, blijft de urine zuiver. Daarbij ontstaat er zo ook geen ammoniakemissie. Ammoniakemissie ontstaat namelijk wanneer urine en mest met elkaar in aanraking komt. Zo blijft de stikstof in de urine.
We spreken hier van dubbele winst voor zowel de melkveesector als de kwekerijsector. Als de melkveehouder de koeienurine afzet richting een kweker kan deze zijn/haar kwekerij verduurzamen door steeds meer natuurlijke meststoffen in te gaan zetten en minder (vervuilende) synthetische kunstmest te gebruiken. Sinds 2021 maakt Kwekerij Koos Buitenhuis gebruik van deze koeienurine. Het vormt een goede voedingsstof voor de planten en komt via de beregening op de planten terecht. Bovendien gebruikt Buitenhuis hierdoor veel minder kunstmest.
Een mooie vergroening van twee sectoren.
